A message from the Outreach Coordinator at the Armstrong Community Music School:

"It has been a wonderful pleasure and gift to have Austin Young Artists Concert visit the Armstrong Music School Summer Music Camps. The performers inspired our camp kids to keep pursuing their musical goals. It also showed them that these super talented kids from Austin Young Artists were kids just like them. I think it helped them see that they too could achieve whatever they want. I was very impressed with the level of talent in these children one after the next. Patches King did a great job representing these artists as well as Austin Young Artists Concert. She is an amazing asset to this community. I look forward to a long relationship between AYAC and ACMS." -Liz Cass

The audience consisted of 32 day campers and 7 administrators and there was a lot of family support that day for the performers. Ms. Patches King announced, facilitated discussion, and closed the program.

As one day camper said, "That music just made me feel happy!" Another asked, "Can they do it again?" So, in fact, Eric and Leslie got up again and played a shorter version of their programs so the Armstrong day campers could get a closer look. Leslie and Eric, with articulation, answered questions like, "How long have you been playing the piano?" and "How long does it take you to memorize your pieces?"
