Monthly Radio Series on KMFA:
"Benjamin Laude was chosen as the first performer to represent the Austin Young Artist Winners on what will be a monthly series on KMFA-FM radio. Benjamin appeared on Tuesday night's "Classical Austin" program (April 20, 2004) and was interviewed by KMFA's Diane Donavan. He performed Chopin's 2nd scherzo. Future performers on this program will be Michael Richardson, student of Irina Hicks, and Millie Shi, student of Dr. Eric Hicks.
Benjamin Laude will be pursuing his bachelor of music degree at Rice University's prestigious Shepard School of Music beginning in September. Benjamin was one of only 3 entering freshmen pianists accepted this year by the Shepard School which has a combined enrollment of 35 graduate and undergraduate pianists. Benjamin will continue his piano studies there with Dr. Robert Roux." - From the Austin District Music Teachers Association newsletter

| Ryan won 4th prize in the 15-18 year old youth division of the Guitar Foundation of America competition. They had an international field of 25 participants, so this was a huge accomplishment. |

| Brian Park was invited to perform at the State Winners Concert at the Texas Music Teachers Association Annual Convention in Houston Hyatt Regency Hotel on June 14, 2008 as the 1st prize winner of the TMTA Performance Contest. He closed the concert with the first movement of Rachmaninoff Concerto No.4 |
| The Austin Civic Orchestra hosted the 2008 winners of the annual Pearl Amster Youth Concerto Competition. Joining the orchestra were the four winners: Christopher Henselman (piano), Jessica Hwang (piano), John Turman IV (french horn), and Eric Wei (piano), all of whom are also Austin Young Concert Artists. The orchestra accompanied these young virtuosi in pieces by Prokofiev, Mendelssohn, Jacob, and Chopin. |
| In July, 2007, pianist Stephanie Chen recorded the second movement of Poulenc's Concerto for Two Pianos with pianist and host of "From the Top" Christopher O'Riley and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Guitarist Thales Smith recorded a segment for "From the Top" in Bethesda, MD, in June, which aired on KMFA's broadcast of the show October 6, 2007. |

| The Guitar Foundation of America (senior division) is considered to be the most prestigious guitar competition in the world (each year the Austin Classical Guitar Society brings in the winner as part of their International Series). Just last year they began including a junior division for ages 15 and under. Thales performed Giulio Regondi's Etude No. 1 in C major and the 3rd movement of Augustin Barrios' La Catedral in the final round and was awarded top prize. |
