Austin Young Concert Artists

AYCA logo Austin Young Concert Artists is a non-profit organization created to showcase the exceptional talent of the finest young musicians within a 50 mile radius of the greater Austin area. These young people are selected through auditions held in the School of Music at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. The selected performers will be presented in a Gala Concert.

The Gala Concert will contain performances by instrumentalists and vocalists, as soloists and in ensembles. A wide variety of classical music will be represented, and all of the performers, including accompanists, will be students from grades K-12. Each performer selected receives a monetary scholarship award and a commemorative certificate. They will also be eligible for scholarships through the Austin Chamber Music Center. All the participants become eligible for a variety of performance opportunities for the period of two years, including KMFA appearances, outreach concerts, and the AYCA Collaborative Concert.

The Austin Young Concert Artists is supported entirely by the generosity of organizations and individuals who share our commitment to the development of young classical artists and the appreciation of their music. MISSION STATEMENT: The purpose of Austin Young Concert Artists is to give young musicians grades K-12 an opportunity to collaborate with their peers, to give young musical artists the recognition they so richly deserve but often do not receive, to call attention to young people who are making a positive contribution to our city and to focus on them as role models for others. AYCA also strives to form connections between University faculty, school/classroom music teachers and independent studio teachers, and to demonstrate and emphasize the importance of music in our schools, in our community, and in the lives of area young people.
